I am a consultant ophthalmologist based at NHS Ayrshire and Arran. I also offer consultation and surgery at BMI Carrick Glen Hospital, Ayr and BMI Rosshall Hospital, Glasgow

I have 15 years of experience in ophthalmology with a special interest in surgical and medical retina having gained fellowships in both these fields.

My current practice incorporates the cutting edge in these areas providing the complete spectrum of the latest treatments for retinal pathology. I have innovated in the technique of suture less vitrectomy and have published and widely presented on this theme as well as retinal diagnostic protocols. Suture less vitrectomy affords a significantly more comfortable and faster post operative recovery than conventional surgery. The vast majority of these cases are now done as local anaesthetic day case procedures.

I am vastly experienced in cataract surgery, particularly in complex situations of co-morbidity and extremes of refraction. I have a significant role in providing cataract surgery training in our unit and have served as faculty on courses. I have published and presented on ophthalmic anaesthesia and carry out cataract surgery under topical anaesthesia. I offer the complete array of intra ocular lens implants like multifocal and toric, delivered through microincision cataract surgery to achieve a bespoke refractive status.
